LRDC celebrating 60th anniversary at June 3 event

The Learning Research & Development Center will celebrate its 60th anniversary with an event June 3. 

The event, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. in the William Pitt Union Lower Lounge, will have presentations on LRDC’s history; the center’s research practice partnerships in the Pittsburgh community and on the Institute for Learning “Translating Research into Practice.”

LRDC’s 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Bruce McCandliss, a professor at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education, will present a talk at 3:45 p.m. on “Bridging Education and Neuroscience via Research Practice Partnerships.” McCandliss was an LRDC postdoctoral fellow from 1996-99.

The day will end with a reception, starting at 4:35 p.m.
