Mental Health Book Club looks at ‘Turning the Mind into an Ally’

Current Pitt employees are invited to participate in the next book discussion hosted by the Senate’s Mental Wellness Task Force and Life Solutions

The book being discussed will be “Turning the Mind Into an Ally” by Sakyong Mipham, at noon April 1 in Room 156 of the Cathedral of Learning.

Author Mipham is described as growing up American with a Tibetan twist. The book focuses on “Strengthening, calming, and stabilizing the mind” as the essential first step in accomplishing nearly any goal.

The discussion leaders for this event will be Curtis Breight, an associate professor in the Department of English, and Vicky Deans, clinical director at LifeSolutions.

The first 20 people to register for the discussion will receive a free copy of the book, via campus mail.
