The call for nominations for the annual Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching, Research, and Public Service Awards is now open. The closing date for letters of nomination for all three awards is Oct. 10.
Those selected in each category will receive a cash award of $2,000, and a grant of $3,000 to support the work in the area for which they are receiving the award.
The Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award recognizes teaching excellence by members of the Pitt faculty. Up to five awardees may be chosen annually. Nomination letters should be sent electronically to Vice Provost Adam Lee (VPLee@pitt.edu) and copied to Meghan Culpepper (msc80@pitt.edu).
The Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award recognizes outstanding scholarly accomplishments of members of the faculty. The committee will at its discretion make up to six awards, with three at each of the two career stages: Senior Scholar (nominees must have achieved pre-eminence in their field and have an international reputation) and Junior Scholar (are required to have received their highest degree no more than 12 years before the time of nomination). Any group of three or more faculty members may submit a nomination at upitt.infoready4.com. The Chancellor's Distinguished Public Service Award recognizes outstanding public service contributions by members of the University of Pittsburgh’s faculty. Up to five awardees may be chosen annually. Nominations should be should be uploaded via the University’s Competition Space link at upitt.infoready4.com, under the “Chancellor’s Awards-Public Service” link.
