Pitt listed among Best Colleges by Princeton Review

The Princeton Review has released its “Best 389 Colleges: 2024 Edition,” and Pitt made the grade.

The Oakland campus was on the best colleges list, which isn’t ranked, and the Bradford campus was among the 97 schools on the Best Mid-Atlantic Colleges.

Ratings by 165,000 students of their colleges on dozens of topics are the sole basis for the rankings.

Pitt students said the the school provides “an amazing balance between an urban and traditional college experience,” along with a “large student body (that manages to) feel small and super connected.”

When it comes to academics, some students suggested that there’s “a strong lean toward the STEM fields as it is a research university with a medical school.” However, others are quick to highlight the breadth of courses available, “including the history of jazz, love in France, the origins of fashion, Led Zeppelin, and vampires.” Students also said most professors are “knowledgeable” and “engaging.”

The Princeton Review also includes 50 ranked lists by category, such as Great Financial Aid and Best Quality of Life. Pitt ranked higher in a couple areas it probably wishes it hadn’t — 9th for Financial Aid Not So Great and 18th for Professors Get Low Marks.
