The Office of the Provost, through the University Center for Teaching and Learning, sent out a reminder this week to all instructors that final exams must be given during the scheduled final exam period, rather than the last week of classes.
“This protects students' ability to focus on learning, prepare effectively and access conflict accommodation procedures,” the message siad. “It also ensures that Pitt's semester meets federal credit hour requirements (15 weeks: 14 instruction + 1 finals).”
