John S. Lundberg

John S. Lundberg, a Pitt staff member for 15 years, died suddenly at work on April 9, 1998, of a coronary pulmonary embolism. He was 45.

Lundberg joined the staff of Computing and Information Systems in 1984. In 1986, CIS assigned Lundberg to work with the Katz Graduate School of Business mainframe computer. Lundberg worked with Katz in this capacity for 10 years.

In 1996, Lundberg joined Katz full time, first as a consultant, and later as a systems analyst with the school's information systems group.

Lundberg's colleagues describe him as a smart, good-natured individual who often went out of his way to help others. "I will miss his intellect and wit a lot," said his supervisor, Frank Miller.

Lundberg is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lundberg, and a brother, Eric.

A memorial service will be held at the Friedens Lutheran Church in Center Valley near Allentown, tomorrow, April 17, at 7:30 p.m.

In memory of Lundberg, the Katz Graduate School of Business will purchase a tree and plant it near Mervis Hall.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Southern Lehigh Public Library, 6339 Beverly Hills Road, Cooperburg, PA 18036.
