Oakland lane restrictions delayed

The state has delayed the additional lane restrictions scheduled to begin June 11 on Forbes Avenue between the Parkway East ramp and the intersection of McDevitt Place.

To minimize headaches for drivers using Forbes Avenue during work on the outbound Parkway East, the new lane restriction announced by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has been delayed until July.

A single left lane closure on Forbes Avenue from Moultrie Street to the Parkway East off-ramp and a left inbound (northbound) lane closure in the area of the existing Boulevard of the Allies Bridge will continue. The work is part of the two-year, $29 million project to replace the Boulevard of the Allies Bridge over Forbes Avenue, replace the north and south ramps and eliminate the contraflow lane on Forbes Avenue.
