Do you have any old prescription eyeglasses lying around your house?

Pitt staffer Abigail Salisbury would like to take them off your hands.

Salisbury will be traveling to Haiti next month with a group organized by Rodef Shalom Temple. The group is partnering with the Pittsburgh-based Functional Literacy Ministry of Haiti (http://flmhaiti.org/home/). Salisbury said the donated glasses will go to a clinic that the Functional Literacy Ministry helps to operate in Thomassin, a small town to the south of Port-au-Prince.

Any kind of glasses will be accepted, including the magnifying “readers.”

The deadline for donating eyeglasses is Jan. 31. They should be delivered to: Abigail Salisbury, University Club lower lobby.
