The Office of Engagement and Community Affairs is bringing back the Day of Caring on Oct. 17, which gives Pitt staff and faculty an opportunity to engage with community partners who would benefit from extra help.
The Day of Caring is part of Pitt’s Civic Action Week — a week-long event for students, alumni, staff, faculty, and the broader community to educate, engage, and encourage collective responses to persistent societal challenges. This year’s theme is “Enriching Our Community Together.”
The application for community partners to host an in-person service project is now open and will remain open until Sept. 19. Apply online.
Share this information with anyone who may have a need and is interested in hosting a group of Pitt volunteers. Questions? Reach out to Caitlyn Crowder at cmc395@pitt.edu.
Volunteer opportunities at Pitt are open to all members of the University community and provide a chance to make meaningful connections with your colleagues and classmates.
Students may volunteer for any opportunity that interests them (plus, some are eligible for OCC credit).
Faculty may volunteer as many hours as their time and inclination allows.
Staff are eligible to receive paid time off each month to participate in community service or volunteer activities. Full-time regular staff members may use up to 7.5 hours during regular working hours per month; part-time regular staff members are eligible for pro-rated volunteer time.
