Summer may mean a relatively quieter Oakland campus than during the regular academic year, but there’s still plenty of activity and folks seeking food and beverages.
Pitt Eats provides several options for those enrolled in summer classes, touring campus, or studying and working in various capacities. All locations take payments in Pitt Ca$h, Dining Dollars, Panther Funds or credit cards.
They include:
• The Eatery — Litchfield Towers. 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays. The all-you-care-to-eat food hall’s menu offers made-to-order sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, pasta and more, as well as allergen-friendly offerings. Menu pop-ups are offered every Wednesday, including a Garden Party on May 21 and Pasta Bar takeover on May 28. Cost: Breakfast, $10.50; lunch, $16.50; dinner, $16.50. Pitt Ca$h members, including faculty and staff, receive 50% off entry to The Eatery during the summer
• Chick-fil-A — Petersen Events Center Food Court. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays-Fridays
• Forbes Street Market — 3955 Forbes Ave. 7 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. The campus urban market-style grocery offers prepared foods for grab ’n go convenience, fresh produce, coffee and bakery treats, soups, and more. Pick up dinner on your way home from the deli case, featuring house-crafted entrees and sides. SNAP/EBT are accepted at the market.
• Unwind — 3990 Fifth Ave., on ground floor of Litchfield Towers. 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, and 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays for a gelato social. Pitt’s new on-campus coffee shop serves up house-roasted coffee blends, handcrafted espresso drinks, sweet treats and house-made gelato.
• Cafe 1923 — University Club. 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays-Fridays. The café serves freshly brewed coffee, soups, salads, and sandwiches, and features an outdoor patio.
• Panera Bread — Scaife Hall. 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays
• Pitt Public Market — Gallagher Plaza at William Pitt Union. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 11, July 23,and Aug 6.
Pitt Ca$h and other services
Pitt Ca$h funds are loaded onto your Pitt ID via a monthly payroll deduction and purchases are tax free. Pitt Ca$h works like a debit card, making dining on campus simple with tax-free purchases and discounts on most non-national brands.
