Lecture spotlight: Talking infrastructure with Rep. Mike Doyle: EVENT CANCELLED

Feb 14 update: This event has been canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date.

U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Allegheny County) will present the American Experience Distinguished Speaker Series lecture on “Infrastructure: An Essential Investment in Our Future” at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 online.

Doyle is currently serving his 14th term in Congress representing the 18th District of Pennsylvania, which includes the city of Pittsburgh and 53 other communities in Allegheny County.

He will discuss the critical role that infrastructure investment has played in Pittsburgh’s past, as well as the impact that the recently enacted Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will have on the region in the future. He’ll also talk about the pressing need for increased infrastructure investment in order to avoid future disasters like the collapse on Feb. 4 of the Fern Hollow Bridge in Pittsburgh’s East End.

Chancellor Emeritus Mark Nordenberg will provide introductions. Register here to receive a link to the Zoom event.

This lecture is sponsored by the Dick Thornburgh Forum for Law & Public Policy, Pitt Honors and the Institute of Politics.
