Pitt Day of Giving includes a celebration at William Pitt Union this year

Pitt Day of Giving is a 24-hour online fundraising event held annually on Feb. 28 to commemorate the University’s founding in 1787.

The third annual event this year will include a faculty, staff and student celebration from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the William Pitt Union Assembly Room. Hosted by the Office of Institutional Advancement, it will feature music, food and giveaways.

Everyone who comes to the William Pitt Union celebration will receive a T-shirt, and the first 250 who bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Pitt Pantry will receive a pair of Pitt socks.

The 2018 Pitt Day of Giving event raised more than $9 million in donations to programs and scholarships.
