Save the date: Chancellor’s faculty and staff picnic returning in person

The Chancellor’s Faculty and Staff Picnic, which has been on hiatus the past two years because of the pandemic, is returning from noon to 2 p.m. June 3.

In 2020 and 2021, events were mostly held virtually during Staff and Faculty Appreciation Week. A website, thankyou.pitt.edu, also provided a public space to post messages of gratitude for Pitt people and departments.

This year’s event will be in a new location — on Posvar Patio and Schenley Drive, instead of Bigelow Boulevard — and will feature games, raffle prizes, activities, give-aways (while supplies last), food and music by a live DJ.

Attendees are encouraged to show their Pitt pride by wearing blue and gold attire.

For those working at home that day and coming into Oakland for the picnic, parking will be validated in Soldiers and Sailors Parking Garage between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tell the attendant before returning to your car that you were at the picnic and show your Pitt ID.

RSVP for the picnic by May 27 to be eligible to win prizes, including concert tickets, gift baskets, Pitt swag and more.

Staff and faculty volunteers also are being sought to help during the day. If you are interested, click here.
