Glenna Walter Mars, an emeritus professor in Pitt's sociology department since 1979, died April 28. She was 87. Mars joined the Pitt sociology faculty in 1947. She was a graduate of St. John's School of Nursing, attended the University of Minnesota and completed her post-graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania.
