Master’s program in public policy management offered

The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) now is accepting applications for its accelerated mid-career master’s degree program (Master of Public Policy Management/MPPM) for the fall 2011 semester.

The 30-credit program provides mid-career professionals an opportunity to expand their knowledge, develop new analytic tools and professional skills and explore new ideas and theories.

GSPIA officials said the program is ideal for professionals looking to advance or change careers, or begin a new career in public service.

Degree requirements can be completed within one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study.

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five or more years of experience beyond an entry-level position. Experience should demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility, leadership and professional competence, particularly in budgeting and finance, human resources management or policy formulation or implementation.
