UPCI academy gives research experience to minority high schoolers
The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) has been awarded $194,400 over three years by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation to expand minority high school student participation in summer research programs.
The UPCI Summer Academy offers rising high school seniors eight weeks of didactic and experiential learning at the Hillman Cancer Center and the Magee-Womens Research Center. Students will work directly with researchers in clinical research training programs to develop, nurture and support their interest and aptitude in pursuing a career in clinical research.
