Celebrate first-generation college students next week

Pitt will host its inaugural First Generation College Celebration Week, starting Nov. 6. The events are part of the First at Pitt initiative from the Office of the Provost.

Panels and social events will connect and support students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college. Faculty and staff who are not first-generation themselves but are committed to supporting first-gen students can become First at Pitt Advocates.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

The Student Success Hub, 217 Langley Hall, will host First at Pitt Office Hours throughout the week — 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 6; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 7 and 1-4 p.m. Nov. 9 — along with an open house from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 8.
