Emergency evacuation exercises planned in August

Pitt’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety will conduct a series of emergency evacuation exercises in August.

The department completes tests of evacuation procedures for University buildings throughout the year, according to Kevin Caruso, fire safety specialist and emergency preparedness coordinator.

The schedule this year is:

Aug. 7: Scaife Hall, 8:30 a.m.

Aug. 8: Biomedical Science Tower, 8:30 a.m.

Aug. 9: Salk Hall, 7:30 a.m., and Petersen Events, 8:15 a.m.

Aug. 12: William Pitt Union, 9:15 a.m., and Barco Law Building, 10 a.m.

Aug. 13: Benedum Hall, 8:30 a.m., and Graduate School of Public Health, 9:15 a.m.

Aug. 14: Learning Research and Development Center, 8:30 a.m., and School of Computing and Information Sciences, 9:15 a.m.

Aug. 15: Chevron Hall, 8:30 a.m., and Alumni Hall, 9:15 a.m.

Aug. 16: Cathedral of Learning, 9 a.m., and Biomedical Sciences Tower 3, 10 a.m.
