Emergency evacuation exercises planned starting Aug. 4

Pitt’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety will conduct a series of emergency evacuation exercises in August.

The department completes tests of evacuation procedures for University buildings throughout the year, according to Kevin Caruso, fire safety specialist and emergency preparedness coordinator.

The schedule this year is:

Aug. 4: South BST/Starzl BST, 8:15 a.m.; and Scaife Hall, 8:45 am.

Aug. 5: Salk Hall, 7 a.m.

Aug. 8: Barco Law Building, 8:30 a.m.; and William Pitt Union, 9:15 a.m.

Aug. 9: School of Public Health, 8:30 a.m.; and School of Computing and Information, 9:15 a.m.

Aug. 10: Benedum Hall, 8:30 a.m.; and Petersen Events Center, 9:30 a.m.

Aug. 11: Chevron Hall, 8:30 a.m.; and Alumni Hall, 9:15 a.m.

Aug. 12: BST3, 7:30 a.m.; and Cathedral of Learning, 8:15 a.m.
