Four recognized for excellence in doctoral mentoring

For the 20th year, the Office of the Provost is recognizing excellence in doctoral mentoring, with awards going to four faculty members.

A reception to honor the winners and nominees of the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. March 26 in the O’Hara Student Center, first floor ballroom. The award includes a $2,500 cash prize.

The 2025 recipients are:

Heidi Donovan, School of Nursing, professor in Department of Health and Community Systems, and Ph.D. program director

Burcu Savun, Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, professor of political science

Vanitha Swaminathan, Katz Graduate School of Business, professor of marketing; associate dean for research and strategic initiatives; and director, Center for Branding

David Vorp, Swanson School of Engineering, professor of bioengineering, with secondary appointments in mechanical engineering and materials science, and chemical and petroleum engineering; senior associate dean for research & facilities; and co-cirector, Center for Medical Innovation
