Proposals Sought for Year of PittGlobal

For the Year of PittGlobal, faculty, staff and students from all campuses, schools, departments and units are invited to submit proposals for programs and projects that incorporate international perspectives.

The site to submit a proposal went live on July 1. Those who submit proposals will be notified within approximately four weeks. Submissions will be accepted and reviewed on a continuous basis through March 2019.

The Year of PittGlobal committee, comprised of faculty, staff and students, will review each proposal. The Office of the Provost will provide matching funding up to $5,000 for approved projects, but applicants should provide evidence of additional sources of funding.

The proposals should advance one or more goals of Embracing the World: A Global Plan for Pitt, which was adopted in 2016. In the five-year plan, Pitt’s role as a global university is put forth: “We aspire to serve as a global convening point where individuals and communities can freely engage in collaborative dialogue and activities that positively impact the quality of life, health, prosperity, and social mobility of people here and around the world.”
