Staff and faculty picnic draws more than 3,000

After two years of online events, the Chancellor’s Staff and Faculty Appreciation Picnic returned in person on a beautiful June 3 day.

More than 3,000 Pitt employees gathered on Posvar Plaza and Schenley Drive in front of Hillman Library to eat, mingle and participate in games.

Chancellor Patrick Gallagher could be seen strolling through the crowd and greeting those in attendance. Roc and the Panther cheerleaders entertained to music from a local DJ.

This is the sixth time Gallagher has hosted the picnic, which previously was on Bigelow Boulevard between the Cathedral of Learning and William Pitt Union.
