All Pitt faculty are welcome to attend the 2025 Faculty Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Connolly Ballroom at Alumni Hall.

Whether you are just getting started or have been part of the campus community for years, this flexible, drop-in event is an opportunity to explore resources, connect with colleagues, and engage with campus services that support teaching, research, well-being and professional growth. 

The event is hosted by the Office of the Provost and the University Center for Teaching and Learning.

Be sure to check out the updated space on the lower level of Alumni Hall that houses Academic Media Production, Classroom Services, and Learning Space Development. Get classroom-ready with hands-on support, see classroom tools in action, and pick up essential tech tools such as adapters, cables and more.

Registration is encouraged (through the University calendar) to help organizers plan for refreshments and space and to keep participants informed about future faculty opportunities.

• On Sept. 19, there will be a Faculty Welcome Reception, for new and transitioning faculty, with Pitt senior leadership, including Provost Joseph J. McCarthy, Chancellor Joan T. Gabel, and Anantha Shekhar, senior vice chancellor for the health sciences. The event will be from 4 to 6 p.m., but location is still being worked out.

• Faculty, staff and students are welcome to an open house at the University Testing Center, Cathedral of Learning G33, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 5. Disability Resources & Services also will be on site to discuss testing accommodations or broader disability-related resources.

Research support

Throughout August, the Center for Teaching and Learning also will be offering online workshops focused on research support at Pitt for faculty in various fields of study. All three of the following workshops are from noon to 1 p.m. Click on the dates for more information.

Aug. 11: Research Support for Pitt Faculty in the Health Sciences, presented by Anthony G. Brickner, director of the Office of Research, Health Sciences, and Laura Miller, associate director, Office of Academic Career Development, Health Sciences
