Office of Diversity holding sexual misconduct talks and workshops

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host a series of talks and workshops next month on various issues surround sexual misconduct on campus.

Supporting Survivors of Sexual Misconduct workshop, 10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 7: Join Pittsburgh Action Against Rape and the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX for an interactive workshop designed to help faculty and staff members best support survivors of sexual misconduct.  The workshop will discuss the effects of trauma, how to respond to disclosures of sexual violence, how to provide ongoing support and Pitt specific resources. My Voice Has Power: A Bystander Intervention Discussion, 10:30 a.m.-noon, Oct. 13: This discussion-based session is designed to help community members recognize and respond to harassment and discrimination on a college campus. Participants will learn and shape tips for how to intervene or act as an ally. Case scenarios will be discussed throughout the session. Workshop RSVP form

New educational series — Shattering the Statistics: A Collective Effort Towards Ending Sexual Violence: Defining the Problem, noon-1:30 p.m. Oct. 15: Pitt’s Sexual Violence Prevention Office will be launching a new educational series, Shattering the Statistics: A Collective Effort Towards Ending Sexual Violence, to explore and bring awareness to issues around sexual violence and ongoing prevention initiatives. The first topic, Defining the Problem, will explore statistics and trends regarding sexual violence, with an emphasis on college campuses. Session RSVP form
