Volunteer now for Be a Good Neighbor Day on April 6

Be A Good Neighbor Day, in honor of Pittsburgh-area native Fred Rogers, is April 6.

PittServes is organizing projects meant to celebrate community engagement, social awareness, and dialogue. The registration deadline is March 29. Click here to learn more and to register.

A few of the 20 volunteer opportunities available include:

Access Mob Pittsburgh: Canvass neighborhood sidewalks and amenities and report problems to 311 to get them repaired.

Days for Girls: Making washable menstrual pads: cutting, pinning, sewing fabric, and getting materials ready for packing and shipping.

Millvale Community Development Corporation: Help with creating a playground in a former junkyard and abandoned lots in Millvale. Tree planting, bike and walking path creation, possibly painting, and working on building pavilion. General yard work, and site clean up.

The Education Partnership: Help sort and count inventory.  Light cleaning:  Sweeping & mopping, detail vehicles, painting, weeding, picking up trash in our parking lots. Baling cardboard so that it can be recycled. 

Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh: Weed nature trail. Gloves will be supplied but you can bring your own too.
