Celebration honoring Pitt innovators will be April 25

The annual Celebration of Innovation, from 5 to 7 p.m. April 25 at the Petersen Events Center, Campus View Club, will honor the accomplishments of Pitt innovators who are seeking to improve people's lives through the commercialization of their ideas and discoveries.

In addition to recognizing Pitt faculty and students and regional entrepreneurs who have achieved a major innovation milestone, such as submitting an invention disclosure, obtaining a patent, or launching a startup company, the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship will present several awards.

  • Startup of the Year 

  • Business of the Year: $1M +

  • Small Business of the Year:  <$1M

  • Marlin Mickle Outstanding Innovator

Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided at a reception from 5 to 6 p.m. A Pitt Innovation Showcase will feature Pitt faculty and students on the path to impact through commercialization, as well as members of the University and regional innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
