Get ready to participate in Zero Waste Week

Instead of Recyclemania, this year Pitt will participate in Zero Waste Week from Feb. 21 to 26 with virtual events and competitions.

5 p.m. Feb 21: Waste Challenge Kick Off. Learn how you can participate in the individual waste challenge, which is open to students, faculty and staff.  You can “face” your waste on one day during Zero Waste Week or monitor multiple days.  Zero Waste prizes will be awarded. Register here.

Feb 22: Face Your Waste. Track what items you use each day that end up in the landfill. The deadline to submit your answers is 10 p.m. Feb. 25.

Feb 23: Trace your Waste. Learn about the life cycles of waste. Events and registration coming soon.

Feb 24: Replace your Waste with reusable alternatives. Featuring a Pitt Planned Parenthood and the Student Office of Sustainability zero waste period product give away. More information and registration are coming soon.

Feb 25: Erase your Waste by turning old items into something new instead of throwing them out. Join Thriftsburgh as they show you how to turn an old t-shirt into toys for pets! More information and registration coming soon.

Feb 26: Embrace Zero Waste with recent Pitt Alumni working in Zero Waste fields! More information and registration coming soon.
