Theatre Library Association features Pitt experts on August Wilson

The Theatre Library Association’s new virtual talk series will debut Feb. 18 with a discussion on August Wilson, featuring experts from Pitt’s University Library System.

Pitt Libraries acquired the archive of the late American playwright August Wilson in 2020. At the talk, Archives & Special Collections staff will discuss the acquisition, processing timeline, content, and outreach opportunities for the collection. Laurence Glasco, an associate professor of History at Pitt, also will join the discussion to talk about his early use of the August Wilson Archive and its possible impact on future scholarship.

Other speakers include: Ed Galloway, associate University librarian for Archives & Special Collections; Bill Daw, curator of Pitt’s Curtis Theatre Collection and a member of the Theatre Library Association’s board of directors; and Megan Massanelli, engagement and outreach librarian for Archives & Special Collections.

The talk is at 4 p.m. Feb. 18. Advance registration is required and the event will be recorded.
