“Leveraging Private Sector Data to Help Inform Major Social Challenges” with John List

John A. List, distinguished service professor of economics at the University of Chicago, will present the Department of Economics’ 2024 McKay Lecture. He has published several best-selling books including 2022’s “High Voltage.” His research has been featured in more than 200 journals and included in textbooks. He was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2011 and a fellow of the Econometric Society in 2015. His research uses field experiments to offer practical insights into education, discrimination, gender and inclusion, social preferences, corporate social responsibility, environmental economics, and the private provision of public goods. The event is open to the public.

Join Chancellor Emeritus Mark Nordenberg for a lively conversation with Barbara McQuade to discuss her new book, “Attack from Within: How Disinformation is Sabotaging America.” McQuade is a legal analyst for NBC News and MSNBC and a professor at Michigan Law. She served as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan from 2010-2017. A limited number of complimentary books will be available.
