Several Pitt programs in top 20 of U.S. News Best Grad Schools

U.S. News and World Report issued its 2022 Best Grad Schools list this week, and Pitt has several programs that rank in the top 20, particularly in the School of Medicine.

The rankings included public and private schools. While the new list contains a majority of the graduate school programs at Pitt, there are some areas of study, such as Best Science Schools, which were ranked in 2018 and not included in this year’s rankings.

Some of the areas Pitt ranked the highest were:

Best Nursing Schools: Doctor of Nursing Practice: 6 out of 330, tied with Vanderbilt; and second among public schools

Psychiatry: 6 out of 20, tied with Columbia University; 2nd among public schools

International Global Policy and Administration: 7 out of 15, tied with Syracuse and first among public schools

Obstetrics and Gynecology: 11 out of 26; third among public schools

Surgery: 11 out of 26; 4th among public schools

Best Medical Schools, Research: 13 out of 191; tied with Vanderbilt and third among public schools

Pediatrics: 15 out of 26; tied with Emory University and seventh among public schools

Public Health: 15 out of 188; seventh among public schools

Best Library and Information Studies Programs: 17 out of 55; tied with University of Kentucky and University of South Carolina
